Mendeecees has two more kids with other women. He met his first baby mama, Samantha, when she was 19. They dated for three years and had a child. But they broke up because Mendeecees was not loyal to her.

Then he met another woman named Erika. She says they met in 2003, but Mendeecees says it was 2009. Things got messy because Erika had a baby with him while he was dating Yandy. She even worked as the nanny for his kids.

Yandy doesn’t get along with Samantha and Erika. They had big arguments about who should take care of Mendeecees’ older kids, Mendeecees Jr. and Aasim.

In January 2013, the police arrested Mendeecees. They said he did something very bad, but he said he didn’t do it. He was also in trouble for selling drugs. The police said he helped sell a lot of drugs between 2005 and 2012.

On July 14, 2020, the police arrested Yandy because she was part of a protest. She was standing up for Breonna Taylor, a woman who was sadly killed by police when they went to the wrong house. Later that month, Yandy shared a video where she talked about having scary dreams. In one dream, she thought people were trying to break into her house to hurt her and her kids. But in the dream, they realized they had the wrong house. Yandy said she was feeling really worried and scared because of all the sad things happening in the world.

Professional Career: Love & Hip Hop

In 2006, VH1 talked to Jim Jones about making a reality show about his life. They made a short 11-minute video called Keeping Up with the Joneses. But VH1 didn’t think it was good enough to make it into a full show.

Yandy Smith had an idea. She talked to her mentor, Mona Scott-Young, who worked at Violator Management. Mona changed the idea and added Jim’s girlfriend, Chrissy, and her friends. This new idea became the show Love & Hip Hop. Yandy first showed up on the show in season one for a short, uncredited appearance when Jim proposed to Chrissy.

In season two, Yandy became part of the main cast of Love & Hip Hop: New York. Her story was about the problems she had while working as Jim Jones’ manager. Yandy and Jim had a big fight, and she also got into an argument with Chrissy at a nightclub in Miami. After that, Jim and Chrissy stopped being friends with Yandy.

Later, Yandy worked as a consultant at Warner Music Group, Atlantic Records, and Columbia Records. Then, she teamed up with Mona Scott-Young again, and they started a company called Monami Entertainment. Yandy works there as a talent agent. In 2008, Billboard named her one of the “Top 30 Executives Under 30.”

Yandy also helps run a lifestyle brand called Everything Girls Love. She is part-owner, the President, and the Brand Manager.

Yandy has been on other TV shows too. She appeared on Love & Hip Hop Atlanta: After Party Live! and the spin-off Remy & Papoose: Meet the Mackies
